Name: Shane Perran | Location: St. John's, Newfoundland Canada.
My fascination with technology and design started almost at the inception of the internet (Or at least when I had access to it). Right from the start I sat mesmerized in front of the screen wondering how this stuff was created.
While sifting through countless ‘view-source’ pages I quickly got up to speed on creating for the web and I loved every “Dos-FTP Chmod’ing” moment of it.
Shortly thereafter my fascination turned into a life-long passion/borderline obsession for the web, design and technology.
During the mid-late 90’s I acquired a lot of experience with websites, design and various technologies while working with Infotech Canada.
In the very late 90’s I gained even more valuable experience working with Telepix Imaging a sister company of Gretag Imaging on software and website UI projects at an international level for clients such as; Wal*Mart, Walgreens, Boots Photo and Loblaws.
After rejoining Infotech I was channeled into the Information Worker Solutions division, and assumed the role of Creative Lead, Marketing and Communications.
My main role is to create a memorable user-experience for our IW partners and clients.
Another major focus is the UI/Customization of SharePoint Portal Server 2003, and Windows SharePoint Services 2.0.
I am heavily involved on a daily basis in the creation of Site and List Definitions, Site Templates, Themes and Data-view customization with and without FrontPage 2003.
