SharePoint Salaries in the UK

This seems to be buzzing this morning. I noticed it on several blogs during my morning reading ritual.

Take a look here.

Good question Eric, my guess would be the people available to complete the job is probably rising significantly and heating up the competition amongst contractors. This could in turn force contractors to drop their rates?

We are in the process of setting up a SharePoint consultancy in the UK with an emphasis on training and my direct customer experience is that direct-quoted rates (those quoted by service providers and consultants to end-user customers) are not that different from the States; i.e. in the range of £100 – £150 per hour. I am a bit surprised by this survey as it suggests that contractors and contract-to-hire workers are being paid at much lower rates than their US counterparts, somewhere in the range of £15 – £25 per hour less (taking into consideration exchange rates). Why the discrepancy, I wonder???

I would love to hear from you.
